Description |
As a Wilderness
Ventures staff member you will be leading a co-ed group of
teenagers on outdoor expeditions throughout the western US
including Alaska and Hawaii or in one of several amazing
international destinations. These are amazing trips and we
travel to the best wilderness areas that exist today. Our staff
are responsible for the group at all times and safety is
paramount in everything we do. We have a myriad of trips that
usually include several exciting activities such as:
backpacking, rock climbing/mountaineering, whitewater rafting &
kayaking, sea kayaking, surfing, SCUBA and many others. Our
staff lead all activities with the exception of technical
climbing and whitewater, SCUBA and surfing. In these activities
we utilize professional instructors. Group facilitation is very
important in every trip we run. These are fantastic positions
for those interested in working in amazing environments with
young adults. |

| Qualifications |
Staff Qualifications:
* You must be 21 years of age.
* You must be available from June 14 until July 31, August 10,
or August 19
* You must have proven experience working successfully with
teenagers.
* You must have proven outdoor skills demonstrating the ability
to lead small groups of teenagers through remote backcountry.
This includes, but is not limited to, route finding, map and
compass skills, campsite selection and
maintenance, and minimum impact camping techniques.
* You must have at least Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or
Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification
* You must have a valid Driver’s License and have an impeccable
driving record.
* International trip may require proficiency in a foreign
language |
